| In my mind the most successful artworks (in any medium) are those that can cause the viewer to experience the "wow factor". Preferably causing him or her to suck in air and murmur "wow" under their breath. Fortunately or unfortunately depending on your point of view, a full blown "wow" is very difficult to elicit on a regular basis. The harder and longer I work at it the closer I come to eliciting a small degree of that "wow" with some frequency.
It is sad that more people don't feel it necessary to search for and support art that embodies that "wow factor". It has certainly proven to be one of man's most important long-term contributions to the welfare of his fellow man.
